With your NewSprout ADSL Broadband connection you can BYO modem.
If you have one already, fantastic, you can bring your own! If it's old (more than about 2 years) then it could be a good idea to get a new one. Some providers try and lock you in and will even lock your modem. If it's locked to their network then it's probably time to get a new one.
If you're looking for a new one, then lookout for an:
N600 Dual Band Wireless Gigabit ADSL2+ and NBN Ready Modem Router
Most importantly you want something that is "NBN Ready".
Also the N600 wireless signal is a good thing to get. This is not to be confused with your mobile signal, this is just the Wifi signal from the actual device to various parts of your house/office. This is if you had a 2 storey building or a very long building and the modem was at one end and your computer/s or laptop/s at the other. Straight through walls is generally fine, it is when it needs to go "diagonally" through walls or roofs (or brick walls or concrete slabs) that it affects signal strength.
There are lots of brand names, any equivalent one will do. Please let us know if you need some advice.
